Jump into the new study and life period
»You are entering into the new period, where is the start of never-ending freedom and responsibility.«
This year’s freshmen were chatting and waiting in the small groups between small and big hall with the faces of full of expectations; this is a brief description of this year’s first study day at October 1st.
Prof. Dr. Dušan Mramor, dean of the Faculty of Economics with collaborators traditionally welcomed this year’s first year students and wished them all the best in the new student’s year.
Freshman Kaj Jež described his expectations: « Probably differently like for other students was the Faculty of Economics for me the first choice, because I’m interested in economy for a long time. Where I can see myself in three years? Probably I will get my Bachelor’s degree and in 5 years, who knows.
First year’s student Jurij Pregelj from Tolmin said: »Why the Faculty of Economics? I am interested in the economics and I like program, even though there is a surplus of enrolled students. In 5 years I would like to work in tourism area, and I did not enroll of the study of tourism because it is not so recognized as the Faculty of Economics. I hope I will get used of the Faculty of Economics very fast, that I will pass the exams and meanwhile also a bit party. «
On the answer why to enroll on the Faculty of Economics and what are the expectations that a freshman has, answered also Erasmus student Francesco Nogoueira from Portugal. He said that his expectations were about creating new friends and learning new things about the economical world we live in. He would like to find himself in 3 years at the finance area.
At this year’s welcome freshmen found out the basic information about the studying and living at the Faculty of Economics. Dean Professor dr. Dušan Mramor emphasized at his speech the importance of the responsibility that every student has to have it at studying. He said: « You are entering into the new period, where is the start of never-ending freedom and responsibility. «At the end he added: »Spend a good time, integrate yourself, subjects are great! «
What it is new?
In this year there will be a lot of newness at the undergraduate and graduate programs. Deputy dean professor dr. Andreja Cirman described this year’s novelties as: »This year have students which are studying direction International business the possibility to get the double degree and can one year study at the partner institution at the Kyungpook National University School of Business Administration in Korea, direction Marketing and the part of studying to finish at the Pforzheim University Business School in Germany” and added: »This year there is a renovated direction Economics which is appropriated for the students with the best results in order to get the most competitive skills and knowledge which lead to the best employments.«
There are also novelties at the graduate program which deputy dean commented: « At the graduated level students can choose between 13 programs which are lectured also in English. Students have also the possibility to get double or joint degree. Program Public sector and environmental economics (JMPSE) it is a joint program which is executed by the Faculty of Economics in partnership with the School of Economics and Business, University of Sarajevo (SEB) and Faculty of Law, Political Science, Economics and Management, University of nice-Sophia Antipolis (UNICE).”
For the successful beginning …
Let me finish with the encouraging thoughts said by dean:« Think positive, the future exists and it is depends on you. Take the knowledge and take care for the dynamic and successful future.«
