At the opening of the literary corner of the Faculty of Economics , which is located in the bookstore Konzorcij, a long-awaited monograph ‘Napredni management'(Eng. Advanced Management) by Vlado Dimovski and co-authors Sandra Penger, Judita Peterlin, Miha Uhan, Matej Černe and Miha Marič was presented.

The book represents the beginning of a new collection of the Faculty of Economics, under the name of Maksima. The authors are proud that after three years of research and hard work the book was published in the Slovene language. ‘Napredni management’ is not just a textbook, but rather a guide for all people who want to work in the field of management and organization. According to Professor Dimovski, the book focuses on leadership which lately needs more and more attention: “Leadership is teamwork and teamwork is the foundation of success!”.

OAfter the presentation of the book, a round table discussion entitled “Are Slovene companies managed effectively?” was led by Professor Nada Zupan. Guests tried to find out what exactly advanced management is? Advanced management must be accompanied by global trends, it must be educated and experienced, ethical, and it must have a relationship with the people. The director of the association Manager Sonja Šmuc says: “We have people who work fantasticly, and we have people who complain fantasticly.”

About who the advanced and authentic manager is, which is one of the main topics of the book, Simon Vrhunec from the University Medical Centre Ljubljana said the following: “First of all, it is necessary to demand things from yourself before you can expect them from others.”

The question of whether a good leader is born or if this skill can be learned, the opinions were different. Miha Marič concluded: “A true leader doesn’t exist, he or she must adjust to a certain moment and time.”
