IMB hosted Professor Svejnar from Columbia University!

The 30th generation of IMB students welcomed Professor Svejnar from Columbia University. He is a globally renowned lecturer and a Richard N. Gardner Professor of Economics and International Affairs and the Director of the Centre on Global Economic Governance at Columbia University. The discussion in class revolved around the most pressing current topics from the health of the global economy, the development of the EU, relative to the US and Asia, and the implications that the Russia-Ukraine war holds for the future of the global economy. Diving deeper into the resulting rising prices of energy and the effect of these on the upcoming economic cycle. A significant portion of the debate was also directed towards discussing globalization effects, the trade relations between major economic forces, and the differences in mentalities of nations surrounding the topic.
