On Wednesday, November 20th, the Portorož Business Conference marked a significant milestone for our excellent students from the International Master Programme in Business and Organisation (IMB). Luka Černila, Boris Jovanović, Kaja Zajc, and Ivana Milivojević represented the 31st Generation of the programme with their final project to an esteemed audience, showcasing the culmination of their academic journey.
Their project, titled Engineering the Industrial Transformation, delved into five key pillars of industry: the Pharmaceutical Industry, Automotive Industry, Machine Manufacturing, Wood Industry, and the Energy Ecosystem. This research effort reflects a year of dedicated collaboration between IMB students and a distinguished team of researchers, highlighting the transformative potential of innovation in reshaping industries.
The success of this project was further enriched by the invaluable support of over 50 executives and professionals from leading Slovenian companies and institutions, who contributed their insights during the research phase in August and September 2024. Their input played a critical role in shaping the project’s findings and recommendations.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to the researchers whose expertise and hard work were fundamental to this achievement: Andreja Cirman, Barbara Čater, Tomaž Čater, Polona Domadenik Muren, Petra Došenović Bonča, Eva Erjavec, Jurij Giacomelli, Matjaž Koman, Hana Končan, Marko Košak, Mitja Kovač, Barbara Kurbus, Igor Lončarski, Denis Marinšek, Rok Požun, Vasja Rant, Sara Ražman, and Tjaša Redek.
This project exemplifies the power of collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence, highlighting the IMB programme’s dedication to shaping future leaders ready to navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving global economy.
»It’s been a big privilege to do this presentation, especially with such a great team. This was a good experience compared to normal IMB presentations. This is a scale-up, but nevertheless, I think we did great and are super proud of ourselves,« added students after their successful presentation.
Likewise, the Portorož Business Conference serves as more than a platform for discussion—it is a call to action, empowering Slovenian companies to learn, innovate, and position themselves for lasting success in an ever-changing global market.
