We are pleased to announce that prof. dr. Jan Svejnar, a Richard N. Gardner Professor of Economics and International Affairs and the Director of the Center on Global Economic Governance at Columbia University, lectured the 29th generation of the IMB Programme. Professor Svejnar is a globally renowned lecturer, who has received important awards, such as the European International Business Academy Distinguished Award, the IZA Prize in Labor Economics, and the Neuron Prize for Lifetime Achievement in Economics. He is also the founder of CERGE-EI in Prague and a member of the European Economic Association, Center for Economic Policy Research (London) and the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA).

Between November 10 and 12, he joined the 29th Generation students in three lectures as part of the Business Environment course to present recent global economic developments and discuss their broader implications. The insightful lectures focused on the current state of the global economy, the political and economic relations between the EU, US and Asia (China, India and Japan), global trade and financial flows, and the changes in global competitiveness of nations with the focus on future prospects.

We are proud that we were able to host such a renowned lecturer and hope that he will join us again next year. Why? As one of the students said: »The seminar with Mr. Svejnar was absolutely enjoyable«
