Another big project successfully finished by our IMB students!
Last week our students from the Technology Management module came to an end with a big project for Procter and Gamble. Namely, P&G has just recently acquired a new, special business unit PHC (Personal Healthcare), where the supply chain highly depends on contract manufacturing. Hence, our students have been working on the project for the past month, analysing the units supply chain and its characteristics. Based on real data gathered, their task was to better manage relationships with the contract manufacturers, develop competitive procurement strategies and this way create more value.
Divided into groups of two, students focused on different areas of procurement and gathered their findings in individual chapters of a common report. The report therefore includes extensive analysis of procurement management plan, supply market analysis, including raw and other materials, cost breakdown, conversion cost estimation, packaging standardization as well as general risk analysis. Each chapter also provides various feasible recommendations and tools that P&G can implement to drive profitability within the newly established business unit.
They presented their findings and recommendations to a group of P&G purchasers/buyers last week during the final presentations meeting, where they received nothing but positive feedback.
The project was carried out within the Supply Chain Management course under the mentorship of prof. dr. Marko Jakšič.
